NOTES:
Barbra dedicated this album to "the young people who push against indifference, shout down mediocrity, demand a better future and who write and sing the songs of today" on the back of the album.
This was Columbia's attempt to crossover Barbra from the "Light Pop" to "Rock." It didn't work.
Three of the tracks on this album are cover versions of Beatles songs!
Barbra didn't even remember she had recorded "Alfie" when she heard it on the radio recently. Well she did, and here it is!
A single was released in 1968 for "The Morning After" to radio stations.
There were two commercially released singles for this album. The first contained a non-album A-Side, "Frank Mills" which is from the musical "Hair." It was paired with "Punky's Dilemma." The second was "Little Tin Soldier" with "Honey Pie."
A third single was relaesed to radio stations featuring the A-Side "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?" which was to be released on Barbra's next pop album "The Singer" which never came to light. The B-Side was "What About Today?" "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?" was later released on "The Way We Were."
"Punky's Dilemma" was written by Paul Simon.
"Until It's Time For You To Go" was written by Buffy Sainte-Marie.
The catalog number listed above is for the original vinyl release.
The catalog number for the Compact Disc Digital Remaster Release is 47014.
